Nouna

Nouna is the capital of Kossi province in the north-west of Burkina Faso. It is situated just 65 km away from the border Mali in the sub-sahelian. Nouna is also the seat of the health management team of the Nouna health district.

Nouna is hosting the ‘Centre de Recherche en Sante a Nouna’ (CRSN), a public health research project with a strong backbone on demography. The CRSN started in 1992 as a small research project, the PRAPASS, in conjunction with the University of Heidelberg and has since then constantly gained importance.

I worked in Nouna from 1996 to 1998 together with my colleage Yazoumé Yé mainly on the demographic database and the village cartography. At www.apuuli.de you can find the following documents, which have their root in Nouna:
